Average daily passenger flow of 300,000! 121 China-made pure electric buses shine in Africa!

    In May 2024, the Dakar Bus Rapid Transit System in Senegal, in which CSR Electric participated, was put 

into official commercial passenger operation. As the first dedicated bus line in Africa that adopts all 

pure-electric buses, all of its bus models adopt the 18-metre articulated pure-electric buses developed

 and produced by CSR Electric. Dakar, with the help of China's pure electric buses, is moving towards the

 low-carbon development of the traditional public transport industry.

    At present, all 121 buses have been put into operation. This model is developed by Sinotruck Electric for the needs of Dakar BRT project, the body and system have high corrosion resistance to meet the harsh local climate conditions of dusty (sand) and salty (coastal), the maximum number of seating arrangement is 55, the maximum number of passengers is 150, which is 1.5 times-2 times of the capacity of ordinary buses, the Vehicle range during the life cycle is not less than 250km, double-winding direct-drive power, high efficiency and energy saving, and can be well adapted to the local environment and terrain conditions.

   African people who have long been accustomed to using Chinese-made mobile phones and household appliances are choosing to take more Chinese-made buses as urban transport. "Chinese buses are really good!" This is one of the most common remarks made by local bus technicians, station personnel and passengers over the past half a year since CSR electric buses entered Dakar. With their fashionable appearance and excellent quality, the electric buses are favoured by African users and passengers. At present, the average daily passenger flow of the buses reaches 300,000, most of which are commuters, students, shopping or travelling passengers.
